SSL Certificate Requests
To request an SSL certificate from Jax IT, please submit a request using the dedicated IT service catalog request for SSL Certificates.
SSL Certificate Form FAQ
- "Do you have a CSR already?"
- If you don't know, or don't know what a CSR is, select "No"
- What is a CSR?
- A CSR is a "Certificate Signing Request," which is a file which contains information that the Certificate Authority (CA) will use to create your certificate.
- Why are there so many questions when I select "No" for "Do you have a CSR already?"
- This information is required for IT to generate a correct CSR, which is used to create your certificate, and it's also helpful for IT record keeping.
- "Are they any other URLs that should be trusted?"
- This adds alias to the certificate's SAN (Subject Alternative Name) field, which allows you to specify additional host names (sites, IP addresses, common names, etc.) to be protected by a single SSL Certificate.
- For example, if we have an internal facing server, you could use this field to add the server name to the certificate so that the site will be trusted when using both.
